A Heritage unit consists of minimum 2 panes of glass, separated by some form of spacer and then hermetically sealed. The variations are limitless. Glass Types & Thickness, Spacer Bar Size & Colour, and Gas Filling are all vital components in the construction of the sealed unit needed to achieve your requirements.
Dependant on the type of Spacer Bar used, it is filled by ratio with a product called desiccant which is a molecular sieve, similar to the silica gel, you find in the tiny bag in e.g. a new shoes box.
This solution is a fantastic way of having an elegant older aesthetic brought into the 21st century. Using high quality glass and components we are able to produce the traditional appeal that some older buildings have whilst using high performance sealed units to add functionality and practicality to your windows.
Although the design may look slim it is in fact double glazed with gas in between the panes to provide a far more efficient alternative to using air, the gas used tends to be Argon or Krypton. This allows us to take lead on improving home solutions for you.
